6 November 2024: Le Perla Delle Dune, Beach Day—Today was a down day to just enjoy this B&B and its location on the Ionian Sea. Le Dune means The Dunes, because there are some sand dunes here. It is, from what I understand, a very popular tourist destination in-season. There were people on the beach today, more than yesterday, but I believe that in-season ended officially a few days ago. Some hotels are open, and this B&B stayed open for Dad and me. It will undoubtedly close for the season upon our departure on November 9. I walked the beach, looking for interesting shells, but I did not find any that I did not already have from Florida. I had heard that the sunsets here were iconic, and, indeed, the one I caught today was beautiful. For dinner, we found a Pub sort of place in town, and we enjoyed Camembert Cheese Nugget appetizers plus cheeseburgers and fries as our main meal. Tomorrow we intend to take in the heel part of the Italian peninsula for purposes of sight-seeing. Until then—.
