Dani Returning Home

We are embarking on Thursday at 3:55pm on a direct flight to Rome and then begin a long driving tour of Italy. We have leased a car and plan on visiting many parts of the country. we will make stops of between 3 -8 days in different regions. We arrive in Rome and then travel to:

  • The Dolomites
  • Veneto (Venice and regions)
  • Piedmont
  • Lake Como
  • Liguria
  • Coreglia Antelminelli (where she was born)
  • Emilia-Romano
  • Sorrento/Amalfi Coast
  • Pulgia (Alberobello/Trulli Houses)
  • Umbria
  • Florence
  • Rome

We will try to add to the blog on a timely basis with anecdotes, insights and picture… also follow the links to our Smugmug site to see more pictures.

We be returning home via Holland America MS Neiw Statendam on her repositioning cruise from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale with Thanksgiving in mid-Atlantic…

Our current overnight stays. Some places we will linger a bit longer than in others. We have a 4-9 day unplanned space for returning to an area or to explore something different. Looks a bit Helter-Skelter but we are trying to maximize nice fall weather to the north and drift south in late October /November… It is a work in progress…
We had an opportunity to grab a trans-Atlantic repositioning cruise from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale…. so we took it.
